The Kite 4800™ is an outstanding stand-alone ultralight pack that can also be combined with our Mainframe™ systems. Designed for the minimalist, the Kite’s capacity to weight ratio is best-in-class. When used with our frames, detach the shoulder harness and hip belt for more weight savings. Tons of Room, pockets galore. The only rub I have with it is that the water port does not go through to the inner pack where the water bladder hangers are, so basically no water bladder integration. Instead I started running water bottles and a water bladder to refill them, it works, it's just different. I do recommend a EMOD lid as this pack is designed for large storage. It is nice to have small easily assessable storage with the EMOD lid. My first hunt went well with this pack, balance is great, shoulder straps and belt are very comfortable, sticks hang off the back no problem, weight distribution is good as well. I do plan on getting a frame pack and this pack can easily attach to it for longer trips and packing out more meat. Overall it's a great pack!
great stitching with durable fabric and lightweight frame.
Eberlestock make some of the best bags I've ever used, I'm very happy with these products
Kite 4800 -OUTLET
Very well made, very durable materials well stitched. This this is very big. Internal frame. It has held up to numerous week long expeditions in various parts of the world. Only complaint is had to purchase add ons for additional storage for things that were needed in a hurry. The saddle bags give more separation to cargo verses just one huge compartment.
Have used this through September so far and it is very comfortable while loaded. It does need a lid for fast items but other than that it's perfect. I added mystery ranch quick accessory straps to the sides to hold items on to the pack. I also have an eberlestock butt bucket on the pack for carrying my bow. Adding a emod lid this week.
(Update) added a photo with the new emod lid on the kite 4800. Honestly ties it all together and completes this pack. Christened this pack on an Pronghorn hunt this last weekend.
Love the bag. Great quality & super lightweight. Only thing it’s missing is some smaller, easily accessible pockets for quick access items. The molle webbing allows you to add these but I would prefer they be built in.
The Kite 4800 looks versatile and well built, can't wait to try it out this coming week.
A great mix between light weight and heavy durable material. I use as ultra capacity travel luggage, it's own large lightweight hiking pack, and a super pack system I use combining it with the team elk pack, eber. Lid., lightweight duffel, kite 4800, gatekeeper straps, and 2 ach strap packs for 10,000 to 14,000 c.i. space that i want to test use for extended military, science, photography expeditions. Deep hunting excursions, carrying gear for disabled groups, and 4 to 6 person family gear hauls, hazmat, rescue missions, and wilderness survival living. 5 star pack the kite 4800. Maybe put some emod zippers by harness. That's it. The kite is an emod pack and can be torn down to be even more simple than it already is. I like my mystery ranch beartooth 80, the eber. Team elk pack alone, and my eberlestock super pack system for hunting. But now for all my travel trips I only use the kite 4800 or my Kota outdoor vitals. If you are a serious traveler you will know why for both of these. I also use the g4 operator from eber. Which is great. Though I still think the kite 4800 and the team elk packs are eberlestocks most under rated packs.
Really happy with the size and features of this bag. Great side pockets and deep main pocket. Seems very versatile for my purposes.
