I was able to carry all my gear with a climber stand all on this frame comfortably!
This is hands down one of the best packs I have used. As an individual who has rucked 100s of miles as an Infantry Marine with multiple combat deployments this is the dream ruck I wish I had while I was active. The scalability allows the difference in what you need in mission. (I’ll be eventually adding the 2500 to my gear roster). The batwings (I borrowed a friends for a break in; currently waiting brown to come back in stock). The whole mainframe is extremely light. The maneuverability with the back allows you to really lock down that pack and move nearly any way you wish allowing someone to do the hardest climbs or the daily long walks with the dog.
I tested mine in the Blue hills park of MA and the shale can kick out with your feet but with the pack locked down you don’t feel the overwhelming need to tumble over while wearing it. This will be my big game ruck, and my long distance ruck with the 5000 for multiple day excursions. The batwings would allow someone comfortable with the elements to last 72 hours without a spotting scope taking up large space (I’m used to a light bivvy sack and poncho liner for short trips in spring through the beginning of fall). Anything longer or if you were wishing to stay warmer the 5000 would pack literally everything you could possibly need.
I’m 6’3” so I bought the taller frame. It fits perfectly. I’d recommend watching the video on ruck sizes as they point out that the taller frame is meant for individuals that have 19” of clearance from the hip.
With all the above said, again one of the absolute best rucks I’ve used. (Alice, ILBE, TAG, and the current Marine Corps standard issue with plastic frame.) bring what you want, leave what you don’t need. If you were willing to do true bush craft one could add a section of cami netting with 550 cord draw string to go around the pack and you will be invisible. No velcro make you silent as well.

Have always run Kuiu and mystery ranch for hunting and the mainframe is hands down the most comfortable frame system!
Absolutely a great multi-use piece of gear
I would love to be able to go be you a first hand review but I’m unable to, see this was a gift for my son’s birthday. I can report that he loves the fit and feel.
Love the pack. The order process was ok but it took forever to get the pack delivered.
Bought this for my husband and he loves it. Might have been a mistake, Im now on the back burner.
The main frame tall fits so good I’m a first Time elk hunter and the pack feels Just right
Solid purchase for the money. Will put it to serious tasks for further opinions.
As good as expected. Haven’t used yet but everything looks great. High quality. Can’t wait to put it the test.
